I am more of a chef than a baker, but I still dabble at baking. If, like me, you’re just beginning to make sweets for yourself or your loved ones then this recipe is a good place to start. These simple sugar donuts will remind you of your grandma’s secret recipe. I have made them many times without a problem. They are that simple and delicious!
We are first going to simmer all the wet ingredients together while mixing the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. After combining them, we’ll shape the dough into a few donuts and then bake them. I coat them with cane sugar to keep things simple, but this recipe can be easily modified, too. Feel free to apply any kind of flavors you like. Cinnamon sugar, fruit-flavored frosting, or even my mixed berry jam are all delicious substitutes!
