Sweet Crispy Buns

These sweet crunchy buns are inspired by African doughnuts. Their crispy, golden outside and spongy inside makes for a rich tasty snack.

- 1 cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- ⅛ tsp Salt
- 4 oz Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- ½ cup Water
- Oil for deep frying
Add all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well together.
Add water slowly. Start with a half cup of water and add more if needed until the mixture resembles the picture shown above. Let settle for 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a deep pot on medium-high heat (avoid overheating oil or the rolls’ insides will not fully cook). Using a small ice cream scoop, drop scoops of mixture into oil without overcrowding them. Fry until all sides are golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.
Remove from heat and lay rolls on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve warm!
Optional: Roll over powdered sugar or coconut flakes.
